ABOUT
Who We Are
The Victoria Chapter of Women's March is a non-profit grassroots, volunteer-run organization, dedicated to upholding human rights, social justice, and intersectional feminist values and to serve the local community. The Victoria Chapter was founded by Dr. Kat Sark, who was the first Chapter Leader in 2018. The current Chapter Leader is Shay Lynn Sampson.
Women’s March is a global movement now, with a global network in place to organize protests and resistance initiatives to oppressive and corrupt power, and to consolidate and collaborate on direct actions and solution-based approaches to positive change like never before.
In Victoria, the Women’s March Chapter is run by volunteers, working to support local communities and use our various privileges to build platforms for marginalized people, to amplify the repressed voices, and to inform and educate us all about the most pressing issues in our communities.
Since January 2018, we have been working non-stop to support diverse social justice organizations, including Indigenous communities, LGBTQ+ communities, immigrants and refugees, women of colour, and women with (dis)abilities.
